BJP national president Amit Shah is in Kannur district’s Payyannur, hometown of Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, to participate in the party’s ambitious ‘Janaraksha yatra’. BJP’s 15-day padayatra will span across 154 km, covering 11 districts of Kerala. The padayatra is BJP’s first major public demonstration in Kerala as it attempts to make inroads into the state’s electoral politics.

7:46 pm: This movement will go on till October 17, also in Delhi and all state capitals. Then we will take out huge ‘Jan Sampark Abhiyan’ in Kerala, said Amit Shah.

7:42 pm: Amit Shah said, “If we don’t bring awareness now, they won’t stop. Chose Kannur because most murders took place here.”

7:41 pm: This Yatra has been organised to invoke awareness. 13 workers have been brutally murdered in a short span of time, said Amit Shah on Jana Raksha rally in Kannur.
