Las Vegas pays respects after 'unimaginable' concert shooting

With the shock of Sunday night's shooting attack still resonating through Las Vegas, prayer vigils sprung up across the city on Monday evening in honor of the 59 people who died. Nathan Frandino reports.

The bright lights on the Las Vegas Strip lit up once again on Monday evening, with casinos and businesses sending out messages of prayer, condolences and strength. This, a day after Sunday night's concert attack - the deadliest mass shooting in U.S. history - that claimed at least 59 lives.. Prayer vigils were held across the city; for residents, a time for reflection. (SOUNDBITE) (English) RESIDENT ALEX INOKE SAYING: "It was just rough for the whole community to see something happen in our backyard, so close to home, less than 10 miles from where we live and where we go to parks and local grocery stores. It's just unimaginable." (SOUNDBITE) (English) RESIDENT BRITTANY WARREN SAYING: "I don't know, we should learn something from this and just come together and just be all on one accord." Celese Lopez, who was near the stage, paid her respects at another vigil. (SOUNDBITE) (English) RESIDENT CELESE LOPEZ, 23, WHO WAS IN THE FRONT OF THE CROWD NEAR THE STAGE, SAYING: "It's hitting me in waves. It was like his third song in, I think like, yeah, his third song in, and I just heard what we thought was fireworks, or I thought was firecrackers, I thought that maybe somebody got in with firecrackers, and then after the first round I was just like 'no, we gotta go', and I grabbed my friend and we just ran." Meanwhile, authorities continue to investigate the life of 64-year-old gunman Stephen Paddock. Authorities say they believe he acted alone, although his motive remains unknown.
