CHENNAI: Two men were killed in two different hit-and-run cases within the gap of three hours on Sunday night in the city. In the both cases, cars that hit the victims remained unidentified even on Monday. S Muruganandham, 63, running a provisional stop at Kotturpuram, was riding his motorbike on the Gandhi Mandapam Salai around 11.30 pm when an unidentified car hit his motorbike. He died on the spot. “We have collected CCTV footage and are trying to trace the car,” said an officer of the Traffic Investigations Wing (Adyar).

About three hours later, S Muthu Raj, 36, working in a bar as a cook, was standing on the 100 feet road at Taramani around 2.30 pm when he was hit by a car. The car did not stop even after the accident. “The locals alerted 108 ambulance services and he was taken to Royapettah Government Hospital. But he died on the way,” said a police officer. The Traffic Investigations Wing (Guindy) is investigating to trace the car.
