--Celebrity guests converge upon S. Florida for "Real Men Support Pink" Golf Tournament and "Pink Diamond Gala"--
LAUDERDALE LAKES, Fla., March 7, 2012 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Woman 2 Woman Breast Cancer Foundation (W2W) will host its annual benefit on March 23-24, 2012 in Lauderdale Lakes, FL, beginning with the Real Men Support Pink Celebrity Golf Tournament and culminating with the Pink Diamond Gala, a formal event to honor breast cancer survivors and raise funds to support W2W's ongoing programs.
Founded in 2007, W2W serves women of varying ages and stages of cancer in cities including Atlanta, Baltimore, Charlotte, Ft. Lauderdale, Houston and Miami among others. Comprehensive programs include education and early detection through free testing, as well as medical and financial aid to women who are unable to work full-time during treatment.
The celebration will kick off on Friday, March 23 with the "Real Men Support Pink" Celebrity Golf Tournament at the Inverrary Golf and Country Club where a bevy of celebrity golf enthusiasts will enjoy the course and help raise funds for the Foundation. Special invited guests include business and civic leaders as well as notable sports and entertainment personalities such as Brian McKnight, Julius "Dr. J" Irving, Ike Hilliard, Buddy Lewis and Matt Moore, to name a few.
A star-studded evening of philanthropy will follow the golf tournament on Saturday, March 24 at the Renaissance Marriott in Ft. Lauderdale. "The Pink Diamond Gala" will celebrate the lives of eight women who are thriving in the face of cancer. Each woman will be honored for the extraordinary way she has chosen to live her life while fighting back to health. "This is our opportunity to salute the many women who have faced cancer with dignity and courage-under-fire," said Jacqueline Gray, founder and CEO of Woman 2 Woman. "By sharing their powerful stories, we hope to increase program support and help others not only survive, but also to thrive in spite of this terrible disease."
The honorary chair of this year's Pink Diamond Gala is Grammy-award nominee Chante Moore, who will present the 2012 Pink Diamond Awards to the honorees. "We are thrilled to have the talented Ms. Moore as our 2012 Honorary Chairperson. She is an incredible example of grace and beauty and will be a great ambassador for supporting a cause that impacts so many families," said Marla Wilson, VP of Development for Woman 2 Woman.
Guests will be treated to an evening featuring exciting charity auctions and entertainment. The gala, which kicks off at 6:00 pm, features a special performance by comedian, actor and two-time NAACP Theatre Award winner Buddy Lewis. There will be a silent auction at the beginning of the gala, followed by a live auction.

Tables can be reserved for $1,500. Proceeds from ticket and auction sales will fund W2W nationwide initiatives such as W2W Cares, W.R.A.P. (Wellness Revitalization Advocacy Program), Share2Inform and Woman2Work Awareness Workshops, many of which is help improve the quality of life for those affected by breast cancer in the S. Florida area.
