ANI  |  Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh) [India]

Former Kalpana Parulekar has been sentenced to two years of imprisonment by District court, in connection with Lokayukta morphed picture case.

The case dates back to 2011 when Parulekar had produced in Assembly an allegedly morphed picture of Lokayukta Justice PP Naolekar donning the uniform of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), hinting that the Justice had links with the party.

The BJP-ruled State denied the authenticity of the picture, and claimed that Naolekar's face was morphed onto the body of chief Mohan Bhagwat. Later a case was registered against Parulekar.

Subsequently, she was arrested in 2012 from her constituency Mahidpur in the Ujjain district. Parulekar was later released.

In 2013, police also filed a chargesheet in against Parulekar.

In 2015, Justice Naolekar recorded his statement in the alleging that the photograph was morphed.
