THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Union Minister of State for Tourism Alphons Kannanthanam on Monday alleged that former Finance Minister Yashwant Sinha had some personal agenda in attacking Finance Minister Arun Jaitley over the economy of the country. ‘’It is only because of personal agenda that Sinha has now come out against the Finance Minister. He was not fond of Jaitley,’’ he said during a meet the press here.

Sinha had made the remarks without understanding the situation. ‘’When Sinha criticised the government on many economic issues, including demonitisation, his son (who is also a Union Minister) contradicted his father’s remarks,’’ he said. However, he admitted there was a slowdown in terms of the country’s growth rate and the Finance Minister himself had said that. On GST, he said, ‘’When a programme is implemented, there could be some issues in the beginning. There could be some teething problems,’’ he said.
