BENGALURU: A 19-year-old civil engineering student committed suicide by coming under a moving train. Police said he was allegedly upset after his girlfriend did not respond to a message he had sent on her birthday. The incident took place near Soladevanahalli, on Monday.

Savio Diengdoh, a native of Meghalaya, was a student of a private college on Hesaraghatta Road and he lived in a PG along with his brother.Police said, before he ended his life he had sent a message to his brother stating, “I am sorry, I do not want to live and also do not blame anyone.”

Preliminary investigations revealed that Savio had sent a message to his girlfriend on Sunday night, wishing her on her birthday. The girl, who lives in Meghalaya, did not respond to his message. Police suspect he may have been upset over this and committed suicide. Police are investigating the case.
