Bejoy Nambiar met Rajinikanth at his Poes Garden residence on Monday. The filmmaker whose Solo is up for release this Thursday tells CE, “I was so excited to meet Superstar. Our producers know him well and arranged for the meeting. I wanted to seek his blessings. I showed him Solo’s teaser and its trailer, as well as some select footage. He’s promised to watch my film.”

Bejoy is an ardent fan of Rajinikanth. Did he express his desire to direct the Superstar?

“Well, I did. He just smiled,” he says.

Starring Dulquer Salman in the lead, Solo is an anthology of four stories. The film features an ensemble cast including Sai Dhansika, Neha Sharma, Sruthi Hariharan, R Parthiepan and Nasser.
