The Supreme will today continue the hearing on the Love Jihad case.

Earlier, a group of people had submitted a to Chief Minister demanding a probe into the alleged unlawful incarceration of Hadiya, the 24-year-old Vaikom native who converted to Islam.

After annulling her marriage with Shafin Jahan, the High sent Hadiya with her parents K.M. Asokan and Ponnamma around four months ago. The case is under consideration of Supreme now, which has ordered an Investigating Agency (NIA) investigation into the case.

The apex had been hearing the plea seeking to not take over the Love Jihad case by the NIA.

Shafeen Jahan, the husband of a woman in the Love Jihad case, on September 16 filed a plea requesting the apex to call off the NIA probe, alleging that the investigation agency "is not being fair".

Earlier in August, in compliance with the orders of the top court, the case was re-registered by the NIA and an investigation was taken up.
