Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal Tuesday paid surprise visits to two government-run hospitals, and took stock of the situation there, officials said. Health Minister Satyendar Jain and senior officials of the Health department accompanied Kejriwal on his inspection spree at the LNJP Hospital and the GB Pant Hospital.

During the inspection, Kejriwal interacted with patients lining up to get medicines at both the hospitals and asked them whether they were getting all the prescribed drugs.

β€œA few medicines were unavailable at GB Pant Hospital. On learning about the shortage of some medicines, the CM summoned the director of the GB Pant Hospital to his office at the Delhi Secretariat,” the government said in a statement.

β€œHe told the Medical Superintendent/Director of both hospitals to ensure that the waiting time at the medicine counter is cut short,” the statement added.

On the need for more pharmacists, Kejriwal said he will appeal to L-G Anil Baijal to give the nod to hire them.
