Judwaa 2 Box Office Collection: Director David Dhawan who directed the original Judwaa back in 1997, 20 years on he has hit the bullseye with his latest release Judwaa 2 that features his son Varun Dhawan in the lead role. Along with the junior Dhawan, Judwaa 2 also stars Jacqueline Fernandez and Taapsee Pannu opposite him. The film that hit the silver screen on September 29 has emerged as one of the best openers of 2017, according to movie critic and business analyst Taran Adarsh. The critic took to his Twitter account to share the news about the success of the film and said, “The audience verdict is loud and clear: #Judwaa2 hits the BULL’S EYE… Emerges one of the best openers of 2017… Nears ₹ 60 cr mark…” While sharing the numbers of the film, he wrote, “#Judwaa2 Fri 16.10 cr, Sat 20.55 cr, Sun 22.60 cr. Total: ₹ 59.25 cr. India biz… Will score BIG numbers again today [holiday]…”
The long weekend has definitely been an add-on for the film as because of it, it has been able to earn over Rs 16 crore on its opening day, which is more than what Akshay Kumar starrer Toilet Ek Prem Katha that released on August 11 had garnered on its opening day. Adarsh while talking about the opening weekend said, “The SMASHING opening weekend biz of #Judwaa2 proves yet again that well-made mass entertainers will never go out of fashion!” He added, “Varun hits the ball out of the park… ₹ 20 cr biz on two consecutive days – a rare feat that very few actors can boast of… #Judwaa2.” He further said, “The ROCKING biz of #Judwaa2 hammers the fact that Studios/filmmakers need to make films for pan India audience, not for select cities/plexes.”
