AICC secretary and former MP Madhu Yaskhi Goud has criticised the Narendra Modi-led NDA Government at the Centre that it has been ushering in the cult of worshipping Godse who killed the father of the nation Mohan Das Karamchand Gandhi.
Leading the Congress functionaries in paying homage to Mahatma Gandhi on his 148th birth anniversary at the Congress Bhavan, here on Monday, Madhu Goud took a dig at the BJP saying that it aimed at saffronisation of the nation by driving the wedge among the religious communities.
He went on to say that the TRS regime failed the aspirations and expectations of the youth when the Congress president Sonia Gandhi delivered the State by living up to her promise of formation of new State seeing the sacrifices of the youth and students.
“Chandrashekar Rao and Chandrababu Naidu have common interests and been hand in glove in serving it,” he added.
All India Mahila Congress general secretary and MLC Akula Lalitha was presen.
DCC president Taher Bin Hamdan, city president Kesa Venu, TPCC general secretary Mahesh Kumar Goud, secretary N. Ratnakar, DCC general Dayakar Goud, Corporator Raghu and others were present.
Earlier, they garlanded the statues of Gandhi and Lal Bahadur Sastri at Gandhi Chowk and Tilak Garden.
