Is suspected of being involved in an accident at South End Circle last week

A day after the Jayanagar police recorded the statements of three people close to Vishnu, the grandson of late liquor baron Audikesavulu Naidu who was on the run, the suspect surrendered before the City Crime Bureau on Tuesday.

Vishnu is suspected of being involved in a car accident last week. A luxury SUV had hit a Maruti Omni car near South End Circle. Six people were injured in the accident.

The police found around 110 grams of ganja in the vehicle. Vishnu was admitted to Mallya hospital from where he escaped.

Police had issued a look-out circular for Vishnu.

The Jayanagar police had issued notices to eight people connected to him, including the younger son of film actor Devraj.

“Vishnu surrendered before the Assistant Commissioner of Police, City Crime Bureau. He will be questioned and produced before the magistrate on Wednesday afternoon. He came alone,” said Joint Commissioner of Police, Crime, N. Satheesh Kumar.

Police officers received a call from a public phone booth giving them Vishnu's location. When the police reached the location, near Chamarajpet, he surrendered.

A senior police officer said that it was likely that the call was made by Vishnu. “His bail hearing was postponed and Thursday is a holiday.”

He is likely to be placed in police custody as they investigate the circumstances of his escape from the hospital after he was arrested just after the accident.
