As many as 120 people revisited Chikkanna Government Arts College, their alma mater, on Monday, thirty years after they entered the institution to pursue various undergraduate courses in 1987.

Over 200 students were enrolled for undergraduate courses in the college for 1987-90 period in seven disciplines.

“Our first reunion, in a smaller way, took place two years ago. But this one is special as it is now exactly three decades have passed since we first stepped into this institution,” said M. A. Vadivel and R. Sivashanmugam, both now into business. The get together gave opportunity to see each other and reminisce the student days.

“Those days, there were no social media or easier communication gadgets to keep in touch once graduated from the institution. Now we are using the modern e-tools to get reconnected with as many as possible so that the next reunion would have greater attendance,” said those who turned up for the event.
