FIFA U-17 World Cup kicks off on October 6 when Colombia take on Ghana in Group A, New Zealand take on Turkey in Group B and Chile takes on England in Group F with all games scheduled to begin at 5 PM local time (IST). This is India’s first foray in a FIFA tournament – either by playing or by hosting. The tournament is being played across six stadiums and in six cities. The group stages will be followed by Round of 16 starting on October 16, Quarter-finals from October 21, Semifinals on October 25 and the final on October 28. It paves way for India to host bigger tournaments in the future.
