17-year-old shoots self accidentally

GURUGRAM: A 17-year-old Delhi resident injured her stomach by a bullet accidentally that fired accidentally when she was inspecting a country-made gun owned by her friend in Sikandarpur.
The girl is being treated at Delhi's Safdarjung hospital.
According to police, Prachi, a resident of Harsh Vihar, lives in Sikandarpur village with her fiance Kamal (21), a resident of Silampur, Delhi. On Sunday, the couple was planning an outing in Delhi when Kamal's friend Akram came to their room asking for the room's keys, saying he had to keep a valuable there. The unsuspecting couple gave him the keys, and later he too, went out with them. Prachi was the first one to go into the room when they returned. She saw something wrapped in a cloth beneath her bed. She unwrapped the cloth to find the gun and fired it by mistake.
Kamal and Akram rushed her to the hospital, after which Akram fled as hospital authorities informed police. As per Prachi's complaint, an FIR was registered against Akram under Section 285 (negligent conduct with respect to firearms) of the IPC and 25-54-59 of the Arms Act at DLF 1 police station. "She is stable now, and we are conducting raids to nab Akram," said ASI Bijender Singh, the investigating officer.
