GMC bags ‘Swachhta Hi Seva’ award

GUNTUR: Guntur Municipal Corporation (GMC) bagged Swachhta Hi Seva award. The civic body conducted Swachhta Hi Seva from September 15 to October 2.GMC commissioner Ch Anuradha received the award from Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on the occasion of Mahatma Gandhi Jayanti and conclusion of Swachhta Hi Seva programme at Vijayawada on Monday.

Speaking on the occasion, she said that the public representatives, employees and denizens contributed their mite for the successful conduct of the programme. She said that earlier, GMC had bagged the Open Defecation Free (ODF) award twice from the government. Meanwhile, Civil Supplies Minister P Pulla Rao and Badminton Association president R Ranga Babu felicitated ace shuttler P V Sindhu.
