Mumbai: Once a staunch supporter of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Maharashtra Navnirman Sena chief Raj Thackeray does not miss an opportunity these days to target him. But his latest barb — a cartoon dipped in sarcasm – has put him in the league of other Modi haters, who do not hesitate to target him at the drop of a hat. The cartoon shows Mahatma Gandhi holding his autobiography “My Experiments with Truth” and PM Modi showcasing a book titled “My Experiments with Falsehood” with a tag line “Both from the same soil” (an indirect reference to their common Gujarat origin).
The MNS chief on September 21 had targeted Modi and BJP terming the PM as “thapadya” (liar). He then had admitted that he was the first person who had praised Modi and had said that Modi should become the Prime Minister of the country. Thackeray had further stated that the people had high expectations from him (Modi) but the Prime Minister has failed in every aspect.
Thackeray while speaking to media on September 30 had issued a threat that he would not allow even one brick to be laid in Mumbai for the proposed Mumbai-Ahmedabad Bullet Train.
