BENGALURU: Internet security firm McAfee will soon launch solutions that protect consumers’ privacy and keep children safe from online stalkers, evolving beyond antivirus products, a senior official said.

McAfee also plans to announce a security portfolio for Internet of Things (IoT) security issues, said John Giamatteo, general manager, consumer business, at the US company.

While antivirus continues to be an essential component in offering complete security, customers have put privacy at the very centre of what’s important to them, Giamatteo said.

“Adding McAfee Safe Connect, a virtual private network that creates an encrypted tunnel between your device and the internet, and McAfee Safe Family, which keeps your children safe from online stalkers and predators, are two examples of how we have focused our attention on protecting what matters most to our customers,” he told ET.
