Cops rescue infant within an hour of kidnapping

HYDERABAD: CCTVs installed at an apartment helped Kukatpally police to rescue a one and half-year-old girl in an hour after she was kidnapped in front of her house on Dasara on Saturday.

The police found that the accused, a labourer, had kidnapped the girl and changed her dress after taking to his home. Munnurureddy Manjula (26), a private employee living in Prakash Nagar, lodged a complaint with the Kukatpally police on Saturday that at around 12.30 pm, her two daughters—Ambika (4) and Anusha (18 months)—were playwhen suddenly an unknown person kidnapped the younger one.
Ambika immediately rushed inside and intimated parents Manjula and Vijay who were working in the house. They approached the police.

“The kidnapped baby’s photograph was circulated among the WhatsApp groups  of police,” said Kukatpally inspector V Prasanna Kumar. The inspector checked CCTV footage and found a stranger carrying the baby. “On identifying the accused, the team immediately rushed to Sheshadri Nagar which is located around one km away from the victim’s house. The police when entered the house found the baby sitting and the kidnapper was also present. Kommera Nagaraju (33), a labourer was identified as the accused,” said inspector Kumar.
