Documentary filmmaker Frederick Wiseman will be presented with the Camerimage Award for Outstanding Achievements in Documentary Filmmaking during the 25th Camerimage Festival.
The festival will happen from November 11 to 18 in Bydgoszcz, Poland, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Wiseman has directed 40 documentaries since 1967 and in 2016 received an Honorary Award from the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.
According to Camerimage, "Although in his films he analyses the ways of mainly American institutions, as well as their influence over people's mentality and identity, Wiseman excels in creating humanistic cinematic odysseys that are extremely accurate observations of the condition of the modern Western world. ...
"He finds human drama in the mundanity of everyday life, and recognises the mundanity of everyday life in each and every human drama he depicts."
Wiseman's frequent collaborator, cinematographer John Davey, will also be a guest of Camerimage.
