Continuing with his aggressive posturing, former Haryana chief minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda on Sunday held another Kisan- Majdoor Panchayat at Ballabhgarh.

Almost two months after holding 10 Kisan Panchayats, Hooda resumed his farmer rallies around two weeks back. BJP leaders led by Agriculture Minister Om Prakash Dhankar have also started organising “Kisan Jamawadas” (farmers’ gatherings) to counter the allegations of opposition leaders.

Addressing the Kisan Majdoor Panchayat Sunday, Hooda said the policies of the BJP government in the state and the Centre have pushed people into acute financial distress. He said the size of the gathering at the panchayat is an “indicator that the people of the state are deeply anguished by their policies and the government would collapse like a house of cards, even before the end of  their term”.

Highlighting the plight of the farmers, Hooda said, “The farmers of the state have been pushed into a situation similar to the conditions which prevailed in the  pre- Independence era”.
