Montgomery County Commissioners’ Chairwoman Val Arkoosh and Commissioner Joe Gale attended a dedication ceremony with state and borough officials for Schwenksville borough’s new “Welcome Mural.”

The mural was partially funded by Montgomery County through its Montco 2040 Implementation Grant Program, which gives municipalities the opportunity to fund projects that enhance their local communities and accomplishes the goals of the Montco 2040 Comprehensive Plan.

The mural was painted by local artist Theresa Haag and depicts an image of the original Schwenksville Train Station as it would have looked at the turn of the century as a nod to the borough’s historic past. It was completed in partnership with Michael and Julia Sabo, owners of 350 Main St.
