Mumbai: Nigerian national held with cocaine

The accused was booked under the Passports Act apart from the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act.

A Nigerian national was arrested with 110 grams of cocaine worth Rs 5.25 lakh on Sunday. The Anti Narcotics Cell of the Mumbai Police arrested Maduka Joe (31) at Wadi Bunder on Sunday night. The police said that Joe, a resident of Mira Road, would take the train to Wadi Bunder and distribute cocaine to peddlers there.

Shivdeep Lande, Deputy Commissioner of Police, ANC, said that Joe does not even have a passport. He added that Joe was booked under the Passports Act apart from the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act. Joe has been remanded to police custody until October 7, the police said.
