
US Shooting Live Updates: Authorities have shut down the Las Vegas Strip after receiving reports of a shootout near Mandalay Bay Hotel and Casino. Two people were killed and 24 others have been injured and victims are being transported to hospitals. The incident has been reported as a mass shooting, according to reports. Las Vegas hospital is taking in “several” people with gunshot wounds, said University Medical Center spokeswoman Danita Cohen.

2:00 PM: Jose Baggett, 31, a Las Vegas resident, said he and a friend were in the lobby of the Luxor hotel-casino _ directly north of the festival _ when people began running. He said people were crying and as he and his friend walked away, they encountered police checkpoints where officers were carrying shotguns and assault rifles, according to AP report

1:20 PM: Dozens of patrol vehicles descended on the Strip after authorities received reports of an active shooter near the Route 91 Harvest Festival. Las Vegas police later said one suspect is “down” but did not give any other details.
1:17 PM: Concert-goers reported seeing muzzle flashes from the upper floors of the Mandalay Bay Hotel and Casino across Las Vegas Boulevard from the country music festival and the sound of what they described as automatic gun fire.
