Anna Hazare.Anna Hazare.

Anti-corruption crusader Anna Hazare will sit on a daylong hunger strike at Rajghat in Delhi, saying the country was moving away from Gandhiji's vision.

"Today is October 2, Gandhi Jayanti. It's been 70 years since our country gained independence, but we have moving away from the vision he had for India. It is for this reason that I am going to launch my satyagraha from Gandhiji's samadhi."

In a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Anna Hazare has threatened to launch a fresh agitation after his daylong dharna. The anti-corruption crusader has alleged that in the last 3 years, he wrote 30 letters to PM Modi, but did not get a response to even one.  This is one of the few issues he will be speaking on when he begins his Satyagraha from Rajghat.

"I am not satisfied with PM Modi's work and am therefore going on a hunger strike. Based on the inspiration I draw after sitting near Gandhiji's statue at Rajghat, I will speak accordingly", Hazare added.

Hazare is likely to announce an agitation to bring in the Lokpal and implement the recommendations of the Swaminathan Commission. A few days ago, he had in a letter to PM Modi had threatened to go on an agitation for the same.
