40-yr-old kills neighbour over ‘affair’ with wife

GURUGRAM: A 40-year-old man has killed his neighbour he suspected was having an affair with his wife. He told police that he bludgeoned his neighbour to death with an axe on Saturday night.
Arvind Kumar, SHO of Sector 56 police station, said: "Satyendra (24) was asleep in his tin shed in a slum in Sector 57 when he was killed by Matadin, who suspected his wife was in an affair with Satyendra. "
On Saturday night, after killing Satyendra, Matadin walked into Badshaspur police station and confessed to the crime. As the area comes under the jurisdiction of Sector 56 police station, the accused was taken there.
The police then recovered Satyendra's body from the slum, and handed it over to the family after the post-mortem.
Police said Satyendra's throat had been slit and he sustained serious injuries to his head from the attack. Matadin and his wife have five children, who also live in a slum in Sector 57. He worked as a daily wage labourer and is a native of Banda district in Uttar Pradesh.
He started to suspect his wife of infidelity after he saw her with Satyendra, who also descends from Banda district. Police said they have recovered the axe which was used to commit the murder.
A FIR has been registered at Sector 56 police station under Section 302 (murder) of the IPC. Police said that Matadin was produced in front of a duty magistrate on Sunday, and sent to judicial custody.
