Diwali this year falls on October 19.
The delivery status of a JioPhone can be checked on this number: 18008908900.
The delivery of about 6 million JioPhones started on September 24 and was earlier supposed to be completed within 15 days, a channel partner of Reliance Jio Infocomm Ltd (RJIL) had earlier told news agency Press Trust of India. "The Chairman (Mukesh Ambani) had said that the JioPhone will bridge digital divide between rural and urban India. Therefore, delivery of JioPhone will start this Sunday (September 22) in rural areas and small towns," the channel partner said.
Pre-booking of JioPhone started on August 24 against payment of a refundable deposit of Rs. 500. The remaining Rs. 1,000 has to be paid by the customer when the company starts delivering the handsets. The entire amount will be refunded against return of the phone after three years.
The entry-level phone comes with pre-loaded Jio apps for messaging and entertainment. The company aims to sell around 5 million units of the phone every week.
