HYDERABAD: Police have not been able to find any clues even 48 hours after the kidnap of a four-month-old girl in the RGIA police limits at Shamshabad. According to RGIA police, a woman, identified as Hamsa and working in a hotel at Shamshabad, visited Rani’s house on Friday morning. She told Rani that she would take the baby out to buy her a new dress for Dasara. Believing her, Rani let her her. But, Hamsa did not return and an anxious Rani lodged a complaint.

The police found that Hamsa, along with another girl, took the baby on a scooter. They went to a textile store where she dropped the  girl and fled with the baby.

Meanwhile, Balala Hakkula Sangham said it suspected that child trafficking could be the motive for the kidnap and demanded a thorough investigation. It alleged that Rani was not the biological mother of the baby whom she got from her genuine parents in Kothur police station limits.
