Man admitted to Coimbatore hospital after doctors in Kerala

A 40-year-old man was admitted to a hospital here today with severed leg after the doctors at some hospitals in allegedly refused treatment to him saying the injury was so deep and there was no facility there.

Rajendran of Ariyalur im was working in Kuttipuram in Malappuram in and staying along with his friends in rented house.


After one of his friends attacked Rajendran with a sickle allegedly under the influence of on Saturday he ustained deep injury in his leg.

Another friend who noticed Rajendran lying in an unconscious condition and took him to Kuttipuram taluk hospital and doctors there asked to take the injured to Thrissur hospital.

However, doctors there failed to provide treatment, saying that the injury was so deep and there was no treatment there and asked to take him to Kozhikode Medical College hospital, police quoting Raghavan, son of Rajendran said.

Rajendran the same fate in Kozhikode also, police said.

Later he was taken to Coimbatore past midnight yesterday and admitted to the Coimbatore Medical College Hospital, covering nearly 350 KMs, early today.

The doctors here were providing treatment to him, police said.
