After paying respect to Mahatma Gandhi on his birth anniversary, AIADMK's disputed deputy general secretary TTV Dhinakaran said that a 15 days' parole has been applied for Sasikala.

VK Sasikala, who was convicted in a disproportionate asset case, is currently lodged in Parappana Agrahara prison in Bengaluru.

According to Dhinakaran's statement, Sasikala is expected to be released on parole for 15 days.

Sasikala's husband, M Natarajan, was admitted to Global Hospital in Chennai with liver failure.

Doctors treating him stated that his liver and Kidney have failed and that he's been put on a donor's list.

A week ago, Sasikala's brother Dhivakaran met with Dhinakaran at his residence and the meeting was later reported to be on political affairs and about filing a parole for Sasikala.

M Natarajan's condition is considered to be critical and on that ground the parole has been filed. The jail officials have passed plea to the court to assess and approve parole.

However, there is also certain confusions about Sasikala's stay in Chennai as to whether she would prefer to stay at Poes Garden or at any other location.
