India vs Australia LIVE Score 4th ODI: Once again Australia lost its way after a good start and struggled in the end overs. All they could muster is 32 runs off the last six overs, substantially below par, even though this surface is slightly two-paced. At one stage, the hosts looked set for a 300 plus score but some disciplined bowling in the middle-overs by the Indian openers helped pull things back. Now, the onus is on their bowlers to win the match from here on. Pace off the ball, cutters, the quicker delivery, that’s what Australia needs, and hope that it can reverse swing later. The poor shot selection from the Australian team against the spinners made them pay the price. The target for India is 243 runs. Given that most of the Indian batsmen are in top form in this series, chasing it down should not be a tough task. But, as you know, cricket is a game of uncertainty, so who knows!  The live cricket score is 158/1 after 31 overs.

8.03 pm: India now needs 63 from 95 balls. Kohli just took a single to put Sharma on strike.

8.00 pm: Rohit Sharma is playing on personal score of 96. We may well expect a century from his in this over.

7:49 pm: India need 85 to win from 115 balls.

7:44 pm: Unlike Indian spinners, Australian spinners have found it hard to stop the flow of runs. Indian batsmen have tackled Aussies spin attack well.

7:38 pm: Zampa to Kohli, 3 runs, gets it past third man, three more. Short and wide outside off, a deft dab down to third man for three. Cummins hauls it in

7:36 pm: MAIDEN over for Cummins?? No as Kohli takes a single on his last bowl. Score 144/ 1.

7:35 pm: Cummins to Kohli, no run, 139 kph, on a length outside off, Kohli is looking for that dab down to third man but finds backward point.

7:30 pm: Zampa to Kohli, 1 run, lots of flight on off, driven with the spin to long-off.

7:23 pm: Zampa to Sharma, FOUR, short and wide from Zampa, tripe. Rohit stays back and slashes a cut behind point, too easy.

7:21 pm: The Indian captain, Virat Kohli walks into bat.

7:17 pm: Coulter-Nile to Rahane, OUT, and out, says umpire Erasmus. On a length on middle, Rahane misses a flick and is struck on the pad. Was he moving across too far? Was it sliding down leg? Rahane opts to review. No bat on that, so an umpire’s call will do for Australia. Two reds, and clipping the bails, so Rahane will have to go. Had just shuffled across too far

7:12 pm: At the end of 21 overs, India is 115/0. They still need 128 runs from 29 overs. Currently, India is scoring at 5.47 runs per over.

7:06 pm: Faulkner to Rahane, FOUR, beautiful shot to get to fifty. Full and straight, Rahane drills the ball right back at Faulkner, who has no time to get his hands up. Great place to hit the ball, fourth straight fifty for Rahane

7:01 pm: Stoinis to Sharma, FOUR, 133 kph, lovely stroke making. Comes down, sees a short delivery and helps his pull easily over midwicket. That’s not good bowling, just sits up for Rohit

6:59 pm: Stoinis to Sharma, 2 runs, on the pads, Rohit works this away past midwicket for a couple, brings up his fifty, another one in the series

6:49 pm: Stoinis to Rahane, no run, fullish on off stump, blocked back to the bowler. Drink break.

6:44 pm: Travis Head spinning the ball left to right, Rahane gets confused tries to dig the ball but Head gets an extra bounce and that was close. The ball hit the pad.

6:41 pm: Zampa to Rahane, FOUR, he bowled a full toss to which Rahane did not try to to go big. He easily sends the ball for the boundary.

6:39 pm: Ajinkya Rahane, Rohit Sharma give Ind good start.

6:35 pm: Zampa to Rohit, that was close to an inside edge off Rohit’s bat. The ball strode towards FOUR.

6:30 pm: Travis Head is the new bowler. He has played 30 matches in which Head has taken 12 wickets.

6:24 pm: Australian players cheering each other and not letting the morale go down. They are here to fight and wont go down so easy.

6:21 pm: Faulkner to Rahane, FOUR, what a welcome to the out of form Australian bowler. He has struggled throughout the tournament so far.

6:18 pm: Coulter-Nile to Sharma, FOUR, finally he finds the gap and sends the ball  past the point.

6:15 pm: Coulter-Nile to Sharma, no run in two balls, Sharma is trying to go for big, but is finding it difficult to send past the Australian fielders inside the circle.

6:12 pm: Cummins to Sharma, 1 run, India have got a good start with both their openers giving their best.

6:06 pm: Coulter-Nile to Rahane, FOUR, a bad delivery and a great shot. Rahane played it with ease.

6:04 pm: Cummins to Sharma, back to back two fours and finally opens his runs account. Score: 21/0 after 5 overs.

6:03 pm: Cummins to Sharma, tries to go for a big, nearly caught in the delivery. Frustration can be seen on the Indian openers face.

6:01 pm: Coulter-Nile to Sharma, no run, good ball. The delivery angled in towards the off stump and it straightens just a bit. Rohit Sharma plays safe and send the ball towards the leg side.

6:00 pm: Coulter-Nile to Sharma, no run, back of a length, fifth-stump line, opens his bat face for a push to backward point.

5:57 pm: Coulter-Nile to Rohit, no run, a technical shot by the technically gifted player. The delivery was the back of a length close to off stump, defended into the covers

5:53 pm: Cummins to Rahane, no run, back of a length, fourth-stump line. Looks for that single to third man again, and Smith dives left from backward point to deny him. We saw a lot of this in Bengaluru too.

5:52 pm: Cummins to Rahane, a perfect straight drive as the balls saidl towards the boundary line for FOUR.

5:50 PM: A decent first over fro, Pat Cummins. He got his line right except for that one ball that was put away by Ajinkya Rahane. Nathan Coulter-Nile will begin from the other end.

5:45 PM: The Indian openers are out in the middle. Ajinkya Rahane and Rohit Sharma will begin the run chase. Pat Cummins has the ball.

4:59 pm: Australia post a total of 242 for India in 50 overs.

4:58 pm: Kumar to Coulter-Nile, OUT, misses a full, straight ball. 138 kph, full on off, Coulter-Nile winds up and looks to unfurl a big swing, but fails to connect at all. The off stump is uprooted

4:55 pm: Kumar to Faulkner, 1 run, full and wide outside off, Faulkner reaches out but can only find the sweeper cover.

4:53 pm: Kumar to Cummins, 1 run, good length on off, slapped away to deep midwicket. Pandey is quick on it. Just one

4:51 pm: Kumar to Faulkner, 1 run, dropped by Pandya. A low full toss from Bhuvi, Faulkner smashes it to long-on, where Pandya runs in, but drops it. Couldn’t keep up with his momentum

4:50 pm: Bumrah to Wade, OUT, he tried to go for a big but falls short of the boundary as the ball goes into safe hands of Ajinkya Rahane.

4:47 pm: Bumrah to Faulkner, 1 run,  skewed to midwicket. Faulkner races back for the second, Wade looks and sends Faulkner back far too late. The throw to the bowler lands in front of Bumrah who allows it go by, allowing Faulkner to run back to make his crease. Sloppy it was.

4:46 pm: Australia will try to reach a fightable total and go past the 250 mark. Can they do it?

4:44 pm: Bhuvi to Faulkner, 1 run.

4:43 pm: Bhuvi to Wade, 1 run, good yorker there. On middle and off, jammed back to the bowler who parries it away while diving to his right

4:42 pm: Bhuvi, to Wade, SIX, the ball is hit straight and hard.

4:39 pm: Bumrah to Wade, 1 run. Just six runs off Bumrah’s over.

4:38 pm: Bumrah to Faulkner, 1 run, good length on off, muscled to mid-off for one. Wanted more than one but settles for a single.

4:36 pm: Bhuvi to Wade, no run, full and very wide outside off, 123 kph, miscued back to the bowler. Another dot. Just 19 runs off the last five overs.

4:34 pm: Bhuvi to to Faulkner, 1 run, on the pads, bat on ball to square leg. Losing momentum.

4:32 pm: Bhuvi to Wade, 1 run, as the ball goes to fine leg.

4:28 pm: Bumrah to Stoinis, OUT, given by umpire Erasmus. Stoinis reviews again. Umpire’s call will decide this. Full on off, the ball has seamed back in prodigiously and struck Stoinis in front of off, beaten by the discernible late lateral movement. No bat. The impact is umpire’s call so Stoinis has to walk back. Fell over his stroke slightly.

4:26 pm: Bumrah strikes and sends Marcus Stoinis back to pavillion.

4:24 pm: Bumrah to Stoinis, no run, good length around off, the ball seams back in, pushed back to the bowler

4:20 pm: Axar Patel strikes again, Marcus Stoinis walks back to pavillion. Premeditating the sweep, Axar is all too familiar with it. He fires it full and straight, Head tries to bail out of his sweep, but is in no position to improvise, the ball finds the gap, a big gap, between bat and pad and hits the stumps

4:16 pm: Kuldeep Yadav to Stoinis, no run, a long appeal from Kuldeep, Dhoni bailed out of the appeal, but umpire Nandan gives it. Stoinis reviews right away. A low full toss outside off, Stoinis goes through with the sweep, but under-edges it onto his pad. A discernible spike on UltraEdge and this decision should be overturned. ‘I’ve got quite a big spike, the bat is not hitting the ground,’ says the third umpire. A bad decision from umpire Nandan, but when a batsman sweeps a full delivery, seeing the edge or the line is really hard. A gasp of despair from Stoinis as the finger went up

4:14 pm: Kuldeep Yadav to Head, 1 run, short and wide again, slapped to long-off for one

4:12 pm: Kuldeep Yadav to Head, FOUR, hammered! Gets low, premeditates the slog sweep, stays low and executes, over midwicket. Just in front of the boundary

4:10 pm: Kuldeep Yadav to Head, 2 runs, short and wide again, too much width, Head rocks back and crashes a cut past cover for a couple

4:02 pm: Currently, Australia is scoring at 4.61 runs per over. The India  spinners did a great job to contain the Australians and slow them down. Also, taking wickets.

3:47 pm: Kuldeep Yadav starts the over for India after dirnks break. On strike is Travis Head. Yadav to Head 1 run, flight outside off, the stock ball, squeezed into the point region for a run.

3:52 pm: Drink break for the players.

Travis Head26 (42)
Marcus Stoinis *30 (39)

3:49 pm: Just three overs in Kuldeep Yadav’s over.

3:48 pm: Marcus Stoinis, Travis Head resurrect faltering innings of Aussies

3:43 pm: Bumrah to Stoinis, good delivery, Stoinis did not even try touching it as the balls was away from the wicket.

3:42 pm: Bumrah to Stoinis, no run, a simple straight drive with no power behind the shot.

3:38 pm: Kuldeep Yadav to Stoinis, 1 run, down the track, meets the flighted ball on a middle-stump line and drags a drive down to long-on, past the bowler’s right hand. He was a little slow bending down.

3:35 pm: The mystery man, Kuldeep Yadav replacing Kedhar Jadhav. Yadav to Head, 1 run.

3:34 pm: Axar to Stoinis, no run, Patel is getting the bounce and spin.

3:31 pm: Jadhav completes his 10 overs of the match. He gave 48 runs and took 1 wicket in his 10 over spell.

3:27 pm: Axar in his 6th over, using his height really well to deliver the ball. The is getting a good height which also gives the ball a lofty movement. Aussies are still figuring out a way to decipher the Indian spinner.

3:26 pm: Jadhav to Stoinis, 1 run, full, angling down leg, clipped to long leg

3:26 pm: Jadhav to Stoinis, no run, tossed up slow outside off. Looks for the drive to long-off and Jadhav sprints to his left and dives to cut it off.

3:25 pm: Jadhav to Stoinis, no run, length ball turning down leg, Stoinis misses the sweep. Big appeal for caught behind, not given. Maybe a tickle on pad?

3:23 pm: Patel to Head, no run, a bit of extra bounce. Looks to sweep this length ball turning in towards off stump, and the ball jumps and hits him on the hip.

3:21 pm: Some change in the field made by Virat Kohli, Axar Patel to Head, and the ball is sent past to the boundary.

3:20 pm: After 28 over Australia is 132/4.

3:18 pm: Axar and Jadhav both giving a tough time to the Australian batsmen. If things keep going in the same way, India might just make it 4-1. But it is still too soon to come to any conclusion. Man in form Stoinis is still on the pitch.

3:14 pm: Men on the pitch are Marcus Stoinis and Travis Head and now it is up to them to take the Aussies towards a big total.

3:09 pm: And he strikes, sends Peter Handscomb back to the pavillion. Aussies wickets falling like a stack of cards.

3:08 pm: Patel to Handscomb, no run, nice length, angling into off stump. Looks to drive to long-on and gets a leading-edge that loops to the left of that catcher at short extra

3:06 pm: After initial loss of wickets the pressure is now on Australia.

3:03 pm: Patel to Warner, OUT, down the track, and Warner’s chipped this straight to long-on! Soft dismissal, but maybe he wanted to hit it a lot wider, looking to whip it in the air from outside off stump. The lack of turn may have forced him to hit it straighter, and long-on takes a nice catch running to his left.

2:58 pm: Jadhav to Handscomb, 1 run, tossed up just outside off, driven past the diving extra-cover fielder to long-off.

2:55 pm: Jadhav to Handscomb, 1 run, back of a length, goes with the angle – which is slightly away from off stump and Handscomb punches it to long-on.

2:51 pm: Jadhav to Smith, OUT, gone! Jadhav does it again! A dangerous, dangerous shot, sweeping from the stumps – because of Jadhav’s low arm, the ball follows a stump-to-stump trajectory right from the time it leaves his hand. Doesn’t give him too much time to get down on one knee, and he’s in a half-crouch when he swipes at it and misses, and he’s struck absolutely plumb in front.

2:46 pm: Patel to Warner, no run, length ball on middle stump, clipped to square leg.

2:35 PM: Steve Smith and David Warner are dealing in singles at the moment. Kuldeep Yadav has been economical for India so far. He has given away just 15 runs from the first 4 overs.

2:30 PM: Just 20 runs have come from the last 5 overs and Australia lost the wicket of Aaron Finch. So, not just India managed to get one out, they have also put the brakes on the scoring rate.

2:27 PM: Kedar Jadhav bowls a fantastic first over, gives away just 3 runs. The score moves onto 74/1 after 14 overs.

2:24 PM: Australia – 71/1 (13)

Steven Smith – 5 (8)

David Warner – 34 (34)

2:18 PM: OUT! Hardik Pandya strikes. Big wicket for India, Aaron Finch departs for 32. He tried to clear the mid-off fielder but failed to do so. Caught by Jasprit Bumrah. Steve Smith is the new man in.

2:15 PM: Steady start for Kuldeep Yadav. Just three runs from his first over, Australia 63/0.

2:11 PM: At the end of 10th over, the score is 60 without loss. This is a great start for the visitors and now, we have Kuldeep Yadav into the attack.

2:05 PM: 50 run partnership between David Warner and Aaron Finch. Brilliant batting by these two. This is their third 50 run stand in as many games.

2:00 PM: FOUR! Easy pickings for Aaron Finch. Bumrah missed his line, bowled it on Finch’s legs and all the Aussie had to do, was guide it past the short fine-leg fielder. He moves on to 21.

1:58 PM: Here is a look at the playing XI for the match:

1:55 PM: Australia – 33/0 (6)

Aaron Finch – 12 (17)

David Warner – 21 (19)

1:53 PM: It has been a decent start for Australia, exactly what they needed. Both the batsmen have started from where they left in the last match and are looking highly confident now.

1:46 PM: FOUR! Back to back boundaries for Aaron Finch. He is off to yet another good start. Australia Live Score – 14/0 after 4 overs.

1:38 PM: MAIDEN! An excellent first over from Bumrah.

1:34 PM: Jasprit Bumrah will take the new ball from the other end. Ideally, India would like to pick up a few quick wickets and put pressure on Australia.

1:31 PM: Good start for Australia, Warner gets them going with a couple of runs. No hint of swing or bounce in the first few deliveries.

1:28 PM: We are live! David Warner and Aaron Finch will open the batting for Australia. Bhuvneshwar Kumar will take the new ball.

1:25 PM: Sad for KL Rahul. He didn’t get a single match in the entire series. If Shikhar Dhawan comes back for the T20Is, it will be an interesting scenario for the team management.

1:10 PM: India have made three changes in their playing XI. Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Jasprit Bumrah and Kuldeep Yadav come in. So, Virat Kohli has gone back to his strongest XI.

1:05 PM: In case you missed the toss, here is what happened:

1:00 PM: Steve Smith has won the toss, third in the row and has elected to bat first. James Faulkner comes in for the visitors.

12:45 PM: Good afternoon folks! We are live and just 15 minutes away from the toss. The sun is out and the conditions look fine for a good game of cricket.

11:58 AM: Here are some images from team India’s practice session in Nagpur:
