Jaipur: A day after the Alwar police nabbed a 28-year-old woman for killing her in-laws and brother-in-law over a property dispute; she spilled the beans before cops and claimed her brother was one of the prime conspirators in the crime.
The accused, Geeta, told TOI that it was in fact her brother who played a crucial role in the killings. On Friday, the charred bodies of a man and a woman were discovered from Alwar's Chandigarh-Aheer village. The district police nabbed Geeta and her domestic help for killing her parents-in-law and brother-in-law to claim their property worth over Rs 10 crore.
"Three months ago Geeta's husband Vipin had committed suicide, after which her father-in-law sold a property worth Rs 3 crore. This irked Geeta who hatched a plan to kill her father-in-law Satpal Singh, mother-in-law Puspha Devi and brother-in-law Pankaj," said a police official.
The cops had arrested Geeta and her domestic help Vishal, however, her brother is still on the run. "It seems that her brother was also part of this conspiracy and may have brutally killed the elderly couple," said an official. The bodies were found charred near the village. While the head and legs of the woman were found to be chopped off, the male body had missing nose and genitals. The matter came to light when the villagers informed the police they had spotted a black car racing into the village at 4am on Friday. The occupants of the car dumped the two bodies and sped away.
The district police had launched an intensive search operations following which the duo was nabbed from Sohna in Haryana. "The main culprit is Geeta's brother, he is currently on the run. But we are in touch with our Haryana counterparts to arrest him," said an official.
