From the time the name of Zubair Khan, who has a connection with the underworld kingpin Dawood Ibrahim, been announced as a Bigg Boss 11 contestant, tongues have not stopped wagging. The man from Dongri is a filmmaker and in an exclusive conversation with indianexpress.com shared that he is on the show with an important personal agenda. The Lakeer Ka Fakeer director quipped, “It’s been 10 months that my wife decided to get separated from me overnight. After I left her at a relative’s house, she called me next day to inform that she is not coming back and that I will no longer be able to meet my kids. It’s the most unfair thing that has happened to me. Since my kids religiously watch Bigg Boss, I want to connect with them through this platform. Also, I want the government to take notice of my plight.”

Zubair further shared, “The police doesn’t want to file a complaint because of my in-laws family’s underworld connect. Thus, through this show, I want to reach out to a bigger audience and appeal for help to get my kids back in my life. The government and courts should make a rule that doesn’t stop a parent from meeting their kids during feuds between husbands and wives. I will die fighting than sit in a corner and cry. Bigg Boss is the best opportunity for me to get my life back on track. I will make my wife and kids laugh through my entertaining behaviour so that they come back to me.”

When we asked him if his connections with Dawood Ibrahim and Haseena Parkar keep co-contestants away from him, the filmmaker assured, “Firstly, I want to clear out that I am not Haseena Parkar’s son-in-law. Dawood did not have just one sister. Secondly, I am sure the makers would have kept my identity confidential and no one knows about my past. I will make new friends and only through my positivity and charm and not by my dreadful connections.”

Stating that he is educated, intelligent, smart and not on the show to get fame or money, Zubair said, “My kids will be my priority but I will also participate wholeheartedly in the show. I want to entertain and make people laugh with my one-liners. I am also quite chichora and have planned to make a mooh boli wife in the show and flirt around to make my wife jealous. Being a born leader, I will want to take charge in the house. Through the show, I am confident that I will give out a right message and show the world that only gangsters are not born in Dongri, some also manage to shine in a different world.”

Zubair will be part of the commoners’ gang along with Shivani Durgah, Jyoti Kumari and Sapna Choudhary. Among the celebrities we will see Hina Khan, Hiten Tejwani, Shilpa Shinde, Vikas Gupta, Priyank Sharma and VJ Benafsha Soonawala.
