21:09 EDT 1 Oct 2017 | PR Newswire

NEW YORK, Nov. 29, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Team Continuum, today announced its 2011 Holiday Toys for Kids program, which provides customized gifts to hospitalized children with cancer in the tri-state area. Team Continuum is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to helping cancer patients and their families minimize the disruptions, hardships and uncertainties of everyday life -- enabling them to focus on crucial medical care.

Unlike traditional toy drives that collect and distribute random toys, Team Continuum's Holiday Toys for Kids program answers the wishes of hospitalized children in pediatric oncology units by enabling the staff to give them the gifts they wish for during the holiday season.  Since 2004, Team Continuum has worked with tri-state hospitals to provide funding to purchase gifts for hospitalized children. Participating hospitals have included:

  • Bellevue Hospital Center
  • Beth Israel Medical Center
  • Maimonides Medical Center
  • St. Luke's Hospital
  • The Children's Hospital of NJ
  • Westchester Maria Fareri Children's Hospital

"With Holiday Toys for Kids, we work with participating hospitals, so kids can get what they wish for and the number of hospitals we help grows each year," said Letty Simon, COO of Team Continuum.

"We understand that having cancer is a trying time. This holiday season, anyone from anywhere can help us help cancer patients through the hardships of everyday life.  By sponsoring a pixel at www.pixelsofpromise.org, people can donate to a range of our programs (including Holiday Toys for Kids).  Because with every pixel, we make every promise count," added Simon.
