A man in his late 40's suffered a massive cardiac arrest while running the marathon organised here today but the doctors at a hospital, where he was taken, successfully resusciated him.
The man, working in an engineering firm here and part of nearly 13,500 runners, suddenly swooned while running and alert volunteers took him to nearby K G Hospital in an ambulance.
On examination, it was found that had a massive cardiac arrest for nearly three to four minutes, but the doctors successfully resusciated him, hospital sources said.
Though his heart was now normally functioning, his brain suffered some minor problem like ischemic, which will take a few hours or days to recover, the sources said.
