New England Baptist Hospital Receives National Top Performer Patient Satisfaction Award for Fourth Year in a Row

13:27 EDT 1 Oct 2017 | PR Newswire

BOSTON, Nov. 16, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- New England Baptist Hospital proudly announced today that Press Ganey Associates, Inc., the leading provider of patient health care surveys, has awarded it the prestigious 2011 Summit Award® for exceptional patient satisfaction.

The Summit Award recognizes top-performing hospitals that sustain the highest level of national performance, ranking in the 95th percentile, or greater, in patient satisfaction for at least three consecutive years.  New England Baptist Hospital, a nationally-recognized center of excellence in orthopedic and musculoskeletal care, has achieved this award for four consecutive years, ranking in the 99th percentile nationally for patient satisfaction with inpatient care, since 2008.

"It is an honor to be recognized for exceeding the expectations of our patients and I am deeply grateful to our staff and physicians who provide superior clinical care, and legendary service, both hallmarks of the New England Baptist Hospital experience," said Trish Hannon, FACHE, President and Chief Executive Officer, New England Baptist Hospital.

Hannon said the hospital sustained its success due to its unique culture, where it is expected that every staff member plays a critical role in both the patient's clinical outcome and exceptional experience.  Every aspect of the patient's journey while hospitalized is studied to determine how to improve upon that experience through the eyes of the patient and family, she said.

"It's enormously gratifying for all of us to see such a positive patient response," said Maureen Broms, RN, MS, Vice President, Health Care Quality, Informatics and Research at New England Baptist. "In 2005 employees committed to the Legendary Service initiative to focus the organization on providing a continuously higher level of service, and our patient satisfaction scores have consistently improved."

New England Baptist, in 2008, was the first inpatient hospital in Massachusetts to receive the Summit Award.  It is the only Massachusetts hospital to receive the award four times and the only medical and surgical hospital in the state to earn the award for inpatient medical and surgical care this year.
