Barnala: Man shot dead by bike-borne assailants

A 30-year-old man was allegedly shot dead by two bike-borne assailants in Barnala Friday late. The body, having multiple injuries was recovered Saturday morning near a gurudwara at Khuddi Kalan village. The deceased, Gursewak Singh (30), was an e-rickshaw driver. According to the father of the deceased, Darshan Singh, Gursewak had gone out after he got a call around midnight.

According to the police, two bike-borne assailants have been captured in the CCTV where they can be seen dumping the body at Khuddi Kalan.

The father told the police that his son usually comes back home by 10 pm. On Friday, around midnight, he got a call and went out again and did not return. In the morning they got to know that his body was recovered from near a gurudwara.

Kuldeep Singh Virk, DSP (Investigation) Barnala, said that an FIR have been registered against unidentified persons. He added that after inspecting the body, it seems that the deceased was attacked with sharp weapons.
