Gutta yet to resign, but CM readies for Nalgonda polls

HYDERABAD: Chief minister and ruling TRS boss K Chandrasekhar Rao appears to be seriously considering the option of going for bypoll in the Nalgonda Lok Sabha segment. Even as speculation on the possibility of ruling party opting for a bypoll to prove its clout among electorate, similar to the way ruling TDP has done in AP by emerging victorious in Nandyal bypoll in that State, CM on Friday neither denied nor accepted the ongoing speculation on bypoll.

“You people (journalists) are writing about possibility of holding a bypoll to Nalgonda LS seat. After seeing your reports, some of our party leaders even conducted surveys to gauge our party’s popularity among electorate. I can say one thing, if bypoll is held for any seat, ruling TRS will win it hands down,” Rao said, while addressing mediapersons at Telangana Bhavan here on Friday.

When reporters repeatedly asked him whether there would be bypoll or not, CM tried to evade a clear answer saying, “I am not an astrologer to make predictions. Let’s see what will happen in the future.”
By making Gutta Sukhender Reddy, who joined the TRS after winning the Nalgonda LS seat on Congress nomination, resign from the MP post, Rao may go for bypoll in that constituency. Since CM is reportedly considering the candidature of Reddy for the head of the State level Farmers’ Committee, Nalgonda MP may have to resign from his post.

KCR takes potshots at TJAC chief

Silver tongued chief minister Rao took potshots at Telangana JAC chairman M Kodandaram, who has joined hands with opposition parties to protest against State’s recent act of forming farmers’ committees in each village. “Who is Kodandaram? What is he? If every Tom, Dick and Harry question my government’s deeds, I can’t answer them,” CM went ballistic at TJAC chief.
