Judwaa 2, starring Varun Dhawan, Jacqueline Fernandez and Tapsee Pannu, released on Friday and has made Rs 15.5 crore on its opening day, according to trade analyst Taran Adarsh.

Adarsh took to his Twitter profile to announce that the David Dhawan directorial had a massive opening at the box-office, garnering a staggering amount on Day 1 itself.

The trade guru reported that Judwaa 2 was in fact the fourth highest opener in Bollywood this year. The highest opener till now has reportedly been the Hindi dubbed version of Prabhas-starrer Baahubali 2: The Conclusion (Rs 41 crore), followed by Salman Khan's Tubelight (Rs 21.1 crore) and Shah Rukh Khan's crime-drama Raees(Rs 20.4 crore) on its opening day. The top five openers list was rounded off by another Shah Rukh Khan-starrer, Jab Harry Met Sejal (Rs 15.24 crore).
Judwaa 2 is the official reboot of the 1997 Judwaa which saw Salman Khan, Karisma Kapoor and Rambha in the lead roles. David Dhawan was the director of the '90s blockbuster as well, passing on the baton from Salman to his son Varun.
