Sports presents A Day of Champions, Sunday, November 6, 2011, at the Sports Museum of Los Angeles benefiting The Bogart Pediatric Cancer Research Program. The event honors WME's Adam Venit and his wife, designer and philanthropist Trina Venit with the 2011 Children's Choice Award. Craig Ross and Ross Levinsohn chair.
The unique, family-oriented sports themed day-long event includes open access to the largest private collection of sports memorabilia and collectibles in the world. Guests will meet and compete with some of the biggest names in professional, professional, Olympic and extreme sports including Matt Kemp (LA Dodgers), Eric Dickerson (NFL Hall of Famer), Matt Barnes (Lakers), Al-Farouq Amiru (LA Clippers), Dave Stewart (MLB, World Series MVP), Baron Davis (Cleveland Cavaliers), Spencer Haywood (former NY Knick), Casey Bond (ormer SF Giants), Cade McNown (former Chicago Bear), Carmelita Jeter (IAAF World Champion), Rick Thorne (BMX Superstar), Josh Hansen (Supercross Pro), Ashley Force Hood (NHRA Funny Car driver), Jeremy "Twitch" Stenberg (Freestyle Motocross 10-time X Games medalist), Ronnie Faisst (Freestyle Motocross 2011 X Games Gold medalist) and celebrity appearances by Russell Brand, Billy Bob Thorton, Jon Cryer, James Marsden, Chad Michael Murray, Milo Ventimiglia, Oliver Hudson, Robert Knepper and more. The 32,000 square foot Sports Museum of Los Angeles contains 30 galleries showcasing more than 10,000 prized pieces. Collected during a 25-year period by founder and CEO Gary Cypres, the permanent exhibits feature items dating to the 19th Century and include one-of-a-kind pieces from football, basketball, baseball, golf, tennis, boxing, biking, soccer and other sports.
The Bogart Pediatric Cancer Research Program raises vital funds to support early stage pediatric cancer research at the Bogart laboratories located at Childrens Hospital Los Angeles.
