Everyone's favourite, 'Freaky Friday' is heading towards a musical!

Just a day after the Disney Channel announced that they'd be remaking the Halloween film 'Hocus Pocus,' they have put another classic on its radar. A musical version of 'Freaky Friday,' which is originally based on Mary Rodgers' 1972 novel, reports the Deadline.

Broadway actress Heidi Blickenstaff, who played the mom in the stage version and Cozi Zuehlsdorff of the 'Dolphin Tale' films, will play the roles of mom 'Katherine' and daughter 'Ellie' respectively, the mother-daughter duo, who magically swap bodies and have 24 hours to make things right before mom's big wedding.

Other cast includes Ricky He, Alex Desert, Jason Maybaum, Kahyun Kim, Dara R. Moss, Jennifer LaPorte, Isaiah Lehtinen and Sarah Willey.

Steve Carr will direct and executive produce the reboot while Pulitzer Prize-winning composers Tom Kitt and Brian Yorkey are back as the music-and-lyrics team.

Disney's Freaky Friday was first adapted for the screen in 1976 which starred Barbara Harris and Jodie Foster, and the 2003 redo paired Jamie Lee Curtis and Lindsay Lohan.
