Saif Ali Khan is gearing up to impress the audience but this time not only as an actor but also a chef with his next film directed by Raja Krishna Menon. The film, which is titled Chef, is a story about a career-oriented father and his son, and after Vishal Bharadwaj-directorial Rangoon’s failure at the box office, this is Saif second’s film this year.

A few days ago, Saif’s statement about how important Chef’s success is for the actor went viral only because of the word ‘desperate’ in the headlines. When indianexpress.com caught up with Saif, the actor smirked and said the word desperate should only be used when one has to use the washroom.

“Firstly, I said something and something else was written. The question was how important is box office success. All these people are working… Forget me, there’s also producers’ money, there is somebody who has put their money into this. There’s reputation. There is DOPs. Everybody wants a success. I don’t like to get desperate because it sounds like you want to go to the bathroom. That is the only time you should be desperate because you make mistakes. You make mistakes when you are desperate, you know. I am very keen and concerned and would love for the film to do well. So, I never said I am desperate but the headlines are saying that now, it’s okay,” said Saif.

He continued, “I would be lying if I would say it (Chef) is not important, we love working in films. But somewhere at the end of the day, certain money you’ve spent should make some money. That’s why we are here.”

This is for the first time when Saif is collaborating with Raja Krishna Menon, who rose to fame with his award-winning film Airlift, starring Akshay Kumar. The film also stars south Indian actor Padmapriya Janakiraman in the supporting role. She comes back to Bollywood after Sidharth’s Striker, which released in 2007.
