The victim in her complaint claimed that under the pretext of shifting her stray cats, the neighbours tresspassed her house and forcibly took away furniture and valuables. Though the incident occurred on January 4, no action has been taken by Bhoiwada police till date.
Mumbai : A senior citizen has alleged that her neighbours ransacked her residence at Wakani House in Parel and robbed her gold jewellery.
Anna Fatima D’souza (68), the victim, has been feeding stray cats and dogs in and around her area for the last three decades. She claimed that the incident took place over this aspect of her feeding strays.
The incident occurred on January 4. However, no action has been taken by the Bhoiwada police till date. As per the letter dated January 4,(a copy of the letter is available with the FPJ), D’souza wrote, “Today morning, my neighbour Sanjay Devalkar barged into my house with 12 cleaners and started throwing my belongings outside the flat. When I stopped them, the other neighbours assaulted me and stopped me from collecting the belongings that they had thrown out of the house. When I called the police, they refused to help me. Under the pretext of shifting the stray cats, the goons tresspassed my house and forcibly took away furniture and valuables.
“I had written a complaint letter to the police against my neighbours on November 28, 2016, but no action was taken. On March 22, 2005, the same culprits had tried to burn my house and kill my pet dogs.”
D’souza alleged, “My neighbours — Rupali Mhaske, Hema Durgavale and Geeta Thakur — demanded Rs 20,000 from me.” She alleged that her neighbours have been constantly threatening her and had cut the electric wire in the house to harass her.
According to an official of the Bhoiwada police “We shall be recording D’souza’s statement in a few days.”
