Liquor baron’s grandson escapes from hospital, police launch manhunt

Four teams have been formed to track down Vishnu, grandson of liquor baron DK Adikeshavulu, who escaped from Mallya Hospital where he was admitted following a road accident in South End circle on Thursday morning.

The police have seized a luxury car which rammed into a car and injured a family of six, including a child.

The public caught and thrashed him before he was handed over to the police. Vishnu got himself admitted to Mallya Hospital, and escaped using an emergency staircase amidst police presence.

The police recovered 110 grams of marijuana from the car and booked him under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, along with the charge of rash and negligent driving .

The police recovered CCTV footage from the hospital where Vishnu was seen escaping with the help of a hospital staff member.

The police have also filed a case against Vishnu for escaping while under police custody and launched a massive manhunt for him. Searches were conducted at his house near Ashoka Pillar farm house at Whitefield, as well as at Chittoor in Andhra Pradesh, where he suspected to have taken shelter.
