Ajay Duhan sets up Panchkula win over hosts

A superb knock of 95 runs by Ajay Duhan propelled Panchkula District Cricket Association to a five-wicket win over Chandigarh Cricket Association in a match in the Haryana State Inter-District U-23 Championships played at DAV Public School, Sector 8 earlier this week.

Chandigarh Cricket Association won the toss and elected to bat first. Chandigarh Cricket Association lost their first wicket in the form of Sajeev with the score board reading ten runs. Terkash Bali played a quick-fire knock of 54 runs off 30 balls to take Chandigarh Cricket Asscoiation score of 79 runs in nine overs before returning to the pavillion. Deepak played a vigilant knock of 56 runs off 75 balls as rest of the Chandigarh Cricket Association batsmen fell cheaply. Chandigarh were bundled out for a score of 199 runs in 38.5 overs.

For Panchkula District Cricket Association, Vivek Vashisht claimed three wickets for 22 runs while Sanjeev Kumar grabbed three wickets for 41 runs. Sagar Sharma claimed three wickets for 38 runs while Ajay Duhan claimed one wicket for 17 runs.

Chasing the target, Panchkula District Cricket Association openers Ajay Duhan and Yash added 42 runs for the opening wicket before Yash returned to the pavillion.

Duhan and Mayank Chaudhary then added 93 runs for the second wicket before the fall of Chaudhary, who played a knock of 38 runs off 58 balls. Duhan played a knock of 95 runs off 99 balls as he smashed nine boundaries and four sixes to set up the win for Panchkula Cricket Association.

For Chandigarh Cricket Association, Sidhant claimed two wickets for 38 runs while Ashutosh grabbed two wickets for 54 runs but their effort was not enough for the team.
