T Rajendar makes sexist remarks while insulting Sai Dhansika

Filmmaker-actor T Rajendar aka TR has sparked a controversy as he lost control in his rant against actor Sai Dhansika for not mentioning his name in her speech while talking about their upcoming film Vizhithiru at an event in Chennai on Thursday.

TR took Dhansika’s slip-up very personal and repeatedly fired insults at her alleging that she lacked basic stage manners and even made a sexist remark when she tried to apologise to him. To console a fuming TR, Dhansika tried to explain to him that she did not leave out his name deliberately. When she said sorry, he hit back at her saying,”You have come here without wearing sari and now asking sorry.”

TR’s display of ill-temperament and the way he treated a woman on a public stage has come under heavy fire on social media. The video of TR’s rant is doing the rounds on the internet also shows other male actors on stage, filmmaker-actor Venkat Prabhu, Krishna, Vidharth, not just kept quiet but they clapped and laughed out loud when Dhansika was being humiliated.

“I’m really obliged to d no of ppl 4showing their care and luv 4 me, for what happened to me. But it is a pity, this is state of lone women..,” Dhansika posted on her Twitter page on Friday.

TR’s main charge against Dhansika was that she ignored him in her speech because she supposedly thinks less of him after acting with Superstar Rajinikanth in Kabali. Dhansika played Rajinikanth’s daughter in last year’s blockbuster gangster drama.

Dhansika repeated apology and reassurance that she respects him did not pacify the seasoned filmmaker eventually making her well up onstage. TR later claimed that he spoke on the stage this way because it will grab some attention for Vizhithiru, in which he has performed in a song.
