
Bhoomi Box Office Collection: Sanjay Dutt’s comeback film Bhoomi that hit the theatres on September 22 with great enthusiasm, but has failed to perform as per expectations. The film on its opening day garnered Rs 1,96,00,000, but its collection grew subsequently with the coming days, however, it failed to hit the double-digit mark until its Day 6. Director Omung Kumar who has directed films like Sarbjit and Mary Kom in the past was disappointed with his new movie. According to PTI, the film failed to click with the audiences. Omung Kumar while talking about the film said that he is disappointed as the expectations were more in terms of box office collection.
The report further states that Bhoomi is made under the Bhushan Kumar’s T-Series banner and Legend Studios, saw the 58-year-old actor for the first time on the big screen after he completed his jail term. In an interview, Kumar was quoted saying, “We had expected more (numbers). We were expecting it to open really well because it was Sanjay’s comeback film. We are disappointed.”
As per the numbers are concerned, according to BoxOfficeIndia.com, on Friday the film garnered Rs 1,96,00,000, on Saturday it had earned approximately Rs 2,25,00,000, Rs 2,50,00,000 on Sunday. After the end of its opening weekend, the collection of the film fell to Rs 90,00,000 on Monday and to an even lower figure of Rs 85,00,000 (approx) on Tuesday, bringing its overall collection till Day 5 to a total of Rs 8,46,00,000.
The theme of the film touches a very sensitive and emotional nerve. It is a revenge drama that is based on a father-daughter relationship. Sanjay Dutt who is back on the silver screen can be seen playing the role of a shoe-seller in the film. As can be seen, Sanjay Dutt is back in his best form and has performed some powerful fight sequences besides heart-breaking moments. The collection of the film might not have done justice, but the story of how a father goes on to avenge his daughter’s rape will give you goosebumps.
