Bajaj Auto has begun dispatches of the Pulsar NS200 ABS across the country ahead of launch next month. An official announcement from the company is expected sometime next week. The new Bajaj Pulsar NS200 is priced at ₹ 1.08 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) and bookings for the model have also commenced at select dealerships. Deliveries, on the other hand, will start in early October. Anticipated to be introduced in 2018, the homegrown bike maker has taken everyone by surprise by introducing the variant much earlier than expected.

The Bajaj Pulsar NS200 was relaunched earlier this year with a host of cosmetic updates and new paint scheme. However, the ABS version did not make it to the model then. The Pulsar NS200 is priced at a premium of ₹ 12,600 over the non-ABS model, which will be sold alongside the new safety equipped variant. Bajaj is using the same single-channel ABS unit from the RS200 on the Pulsar NS200 as well that controls the front wheel.
Other than the update, there have been no changes to the 2017 Bajaj Pulsar NS200 ABS. The naked motorcycle continues to draw power from a 199.5 cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine tuned to produce 23 bhp of power and 18.3 Nm of peak torque. The motor comes paired to a 6-speed gearbox. Suspension setup includes telescopic forks up front and a monoshock unit at the rear, while braking power comes from 280 mm and 230 mm discs at the front and rear.

With the safety feature's addition, the Bajaj Pulsar NS200 joins the list of the few bikes in the mass market space that get ABS. Other options being the Bajaj Pulsar RS200, Suzuki Gixxer SF and the TVS Apache RTR 180. Interestingly, while the TVS Apache RTR 200 4V was also announced with dual-channel ABS (and fuel injection), the variant is yet to commence deliveries.
