Paul "Chip" Klingaman, age 50, competed in five triathlon events this season in the Wheelie-Fun Series in venues across Ohio and West Virginia, culminating in the series' Championship race held in Akron, Ohio. Chip swims a half mile, bicycles 12.4 miles, and runs 3.2 miles in each "sprint distance" race. Chip competes in the "Clydesdale" category of males age 40+, and set several personal records this season with his fastest time of under one hour and twenty five minutes at the East Fork State Park event held near Cincinnati, Ohio.
Chip attributes his success to "living the Endless Youth and Life lifestyle", and the inspiration from his training partners including his wife, Toni, and adult daughters Kristin and Ariel. Ariel Klingaman is also a 2011 Wheelie-Fun Series highpoint winner and former NCAA Division 1-A athlete.
